An artist and educator, Carole will be reading from her book and sharing her story of recovery from a series of strokes at age 42. How much activity is required to promote stroke recovery? Watch our video

UBC Professor Dr. Janice Eng visited CPSR's University of Ottawa site in early December, met with researchers and CPSR management and delivered an excellent  lecture on "Strategies to Increase Upper and Lower Extremity Physical Activity after Stroke." She talked about the latest findings on exercise, the GRASP and FAME studies and future directions in stroke recovery. We videotaped Dr. Eng's talk and posted it on our YouTube site. Watch it HERE.

A personal story of stroke recovery

The HSF Canadian Partnership for Stroke Recovery is helping stroke recoverer Carole Laurin launch her new book, When Stroke Meets Trust: A Journey of Inspiration, on Jan. 8, 2014 at 7 pm at our offices at 600 Peter Morand Cres. in Ottawa. Carole survived several strokes at age 42 and, with the support of family, friends and health-care professionals, overcame hemiplegia. The CPSR building, located near the Ottawa Hospital's General campus, is accessible.
